3Pin
I want to repaint my 96 OB after some basic body panel work. The car is green and needs repair and repainting in the green area and the silverish gold section also. It appears that the lower color of the doors and around the wheel well is actually an adhesive based coating or sticker. Has anyone had experience replacing or repainting this two tone section? Legacy777
There may be a clear vinyl section on the lower portion of the paneling to reduce rock chips, but that's just a guess.
88HatchMonster
The silver is painted, but just above it is a thick (1/4") vinyl pinstripe. Scrape off the pinstripe if you need to repaint that area and you'll be fine.
Gnuman
Actually the pinstripe and the top part of the lower body color are a stick on application. Not cheap either. Only available as a whole side. THis is fine as long as you are planning on repainting the whole car. . .
