JonOfScio
Well, my EA81 engine should be pulled soon. I don't have ANY vacuum lines except those directly on the manifold, so it shows a good amount of the manifold. Color should that be? Block? heads? valve covers? My ideas thus far are: 1. ford red entire engine... 2. keep manifold/block the same with red for the heads and black for the covers 3. same as two but rally blue the heads 4. rally blue the entire engine except the covers be black 5. same as four but manifold be orig. aluminum And ideas from the peanut gallery? While I'm at it... in goes new clutch kit, resurface heads, valve seal guides... new head gaskets of course... maybe springs if they don't cost too much. eyesore
What color is the car? Personally I'd go with a Hemi orange / Chevy orange for the block, Aluminum for the heads, and orange on the Valve covers. Matching orange, or black on the air cleaner. Choice #2: Rally blue (or ford engine blue) everything except the heads. Choice #3: Body color everything except the Valve Covers. Get those chrome plated. Powdercoat the carb to match! Snowman
Polish the block and heads, and rally blue the intake manifold, valve covers, oil pan, and air cleaner.
Flowmastered87GL
Use the blue color I have on my intake (I showed it to you in front of andrews house... its kind of a rally blue... i think its either old ford blue or new ford blue... old I think....) Anyway do the block that color with a yellow intake.... (kinda like the subaru rally colors or something)

XSNRG
I vote for highly polished aluminum. More work, yes but nothing looks better and it will cool better than a painted surface. I'm doing my RX engine like this, inside and out... http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette/polish.htm
JonOfScio
I had considered that... but seems like a WHOLE LOT of work.
Caboobaroo
I found a color at Wally World that is Dark Ford Blue. It's niiiice looking. Unfortunatly, none of the auto part stores in Albany carry that color so I have to drive 30 miles to get more of it which I'm gonna have to do here pretty soon:banghead:
AKIRA
I would do chevy orange on the block and heads and light blue on the valve covers, red manifold. my dad is doing this on the V-6 he is putting in his TR7, silver block and heads, blood red valve covers, dark blue manifold, looks nice. Marck
Does painting the engine parts help any thing but making it look good? My opinion: I think red heads with black valve covers would look great, and keep the block plain or polish it.
