axgutt
We take a lot of short road trips in our 95 Legacy Wagon with a baby and two Labs. Needless to say it's pretty tight. I've been thinking of getting one of those cargo bags that you put on the roof. Does anyone have any experience with them? If it makes a difference, we have the factory rack (and 255,000 miles - I just like typing that). Thanks Adam
mtsmiths
I have one that I bought brand new for $25.00 at the Pasadena, MD Goodwill. I used it packed full on my trip back to Montana. I really like, and have used it on trips to keep the wayback empty for naps on the road. Been through pouring rain and never a drop inside, no wind noise. I like it better than rocket boxes 'cause it's only on when we need it.
Suzam
I have one from Samsonite that I have used on a sedan with no roof rack and it worked fine. Only complaint was the straps vibrated and made noises but some repostioning of the straps solved that problem. No leaks in rain.
Andyjo
I hear they get slimey? i guess that's just if you leave them on the roof forever though... I have a box.. but i also take it off when it's not in use.
