88 GL-10 WRX 1/4 mile time

the 60ft time is good.. a better reaction timewould have probably got you near the high 13's.. good show chap! you have an ej tranny... it takes alot more abuse then the ea trans.. give it hell!

 

i need some cash and a wrx front clip.. you got me drooling superdave

your trap speed is faster than what i get in my wrx. how much boost are you running? if you let the clutch out kinda slow, you wont beat up the gears. i think my best 60' was 1.9 or 1.8, so slipping the clutch should take off a few tenths as long as you dont bog.

next time i go out i will give it a little more. i had so much going on i could hardly think. this was the first time going down the track in close to 5 years.

 

the car is running 15PSI of boost, stock for that engine. stock management.

 

right lane was a late 60's dodge dart. i hope for his sake it was a slant 6...

Where did you shift at? and how many gears did you grab?

 

My buddy used to up his rev. limit on his 2.5rs-T (was running a tec3 engine management) so that he wouldn't have to shift the last bit on the track. He said it was good for half a second off his time when he got used to it (he shifted higher in all the othe gears too)

 

I'd love to see what his car would run now (2.5rs usdm wrx swap, stage 4+)

He's running a 96 JDM WRX STi engine rated at 275hp at the engine, not sure about your WRX but if it is USA stock, that has 227hp? That could be the difference.

 

Great job Dave, with a little practice, you might be able to break into the 13's.
