Subafly
Ive been thinking about painting some stripes on the Sube for a while but am not sure what to use. If I used spray paint could I just spray it on or would I have to sand it first then put some sort of coating on? I just dont know:cornfuzz:
TheSubaruJunkie
Depends on how good you want it to look and how long you want the stripes to stay on the car. I would prolly just mask off where you want your line to be, and at least lightly sand it so the paint has something to stick to. If you want to make it look real good, spray some primer on after its sanded down alittle (just enough to get through clear coat) a coat of primer and 2 or 3 coats of krylon will make it look 1/2 way decent. -Brian
Caboobaroo
maybe try using engine enamel. I used white engine enamel on my front grille and it looks soo nice and I don't think I have to worry about it peeling. You want to mask off where you wanna paint, sand down the clear coat, maybe put a couple coats of primer on it and give it a few light coats of what color you're gonna paint it, then a couple coats of clear coat.
