theDirtyRue
So, while i was on the way home from work a few days ago, i blacked out. I ran off the road and jumped two driveways. Both driveways had large rocks on the sides of them. (I'm fine, and no, i was not under the influence) Anyways, i thought the damage was minimal, but when i went out to check it out yesterday, i noticed the passenger tire is out of alignment (the top of the tire is pointing into the engine) My dad thinks that my strut is shot. Is he right or do i just need an alignment? I cant tell if the drivers sie is bad too, I only have the spare on it. The hood will no longer close, I dont think that its bent. I also need to replace the front sway bar and the drivers side bushings for it. Other then that, my oil pan is dented up and the body under the bumper is thrashed, but thats about it. Thanks in Advance,
bushbasher
most likely something bent. If you want yor car to run straight again, likely you'll want to replace the strut and hub. If you notice that your brakes pulse or vibrate then your spindle/axle could be bent too. Get an alignment after you replace the struts/hubs, and see where it goes from there. btw your lucky man... I was behind a girl in a hyundai who passed out and went head on into a bus at 60mph
TomRhere
Possible things that were bent; Lower control arm, Strut tube, Front uni-body area. I know that last one doesn't sound to good. But seeing as you say the hood won't close right, that is a possibility. If you decide to repair this car, I strongly urge you to replace the lower ball-joint also, as it could have stress fractures in it.
theDirtyRue
thanks to both of you. I know that i am very lucky. No one was hurt and i thank God for that. The only damage incurred is to my own property, no mailboxes or anything like that.

MaroonDuneDoom
i would almost bet for certain that your lower control arm and/or tie rod/s are bent. i hit a square curb about a week ago. i was traveling about 35 mph. and yes, i WAS under the influence. never try performance braking while drunk. or drive for that matter. i live in a hick town. thats my excuse. but yeah, definitely check the aforementioned. best of luck:drunk:
