More Justy questions

So i have a questions about the justy 4x4 5 speed trannys. Are they a AWD like some of the GLs in the since of for the most part it as an AWD with an open center diff and then with a lockable center diff switch. Or like the shiftable type like the HI/LOW and push buttons, FWD most of the time then 4WD after switching. Or the last option, like all the subarus now, with a true AWD systems.

thanks

Nothing like those systems. In a Justy the rear wheels are driven from the front diff. There is no center diff per se. You will find this out when you try to make a turn with the 4wd on pavement. It gives a true 50/50 F/R split. It also means that you must be pointing in a straight line when you hit that button.

So then like the GL push button system, front wheel drive until you press the magic button.

Like it in operating principle only - the justy is transverse, and the drivetrain is totally different. It's simply a single range 4WD with a pushbutton style control.

I understand that it is different, I was just wondering in what matter it operated.

Thanks
