svxin Posted May 21, 2006 Share Posted May 21, 2006 ok im working on this ea82t motor and have found a sensor that is brokeni dont know what to call it but i have a few pics its right beside the throttle body and coolent line going to turbo its in between the two ill try to post pics. calebz Posted May 22, 2006 Share Posted May 22, 2006 That is either the EGR or Purge control solenoid. Can't remember which is which. I have neither on my wagon anymore. NorthWet Posted May 22, 2006 Share Posted May 22, 2006 That solenoid controls when your charcoal canister is purged of fuel vapors. Other than a possible smallish vacuum leak (depending on what side of the valve snapped off), it should not have any effect on your performance. Make sure that your ignition is in good shape, particularly spark plugs and wires, and that the timing is set properly (this requires connecting a set of green connectors near the fuse box while checking setting the timing).
