TheYeti
It is a 1988 GL wagon. The previous owner stated that it runs warm with the air on. Everything is fine with this vehicle... at least everything that I have seen. It clearly has been well maintained through out its 197k lifetime. Do the older gens tend to run warm, or could it be that the old radiator needs to be replaced? Just curious
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
... Do the older gens tend to run warm, or could it be that the old radiator needs to be replaced? Just curious Yes, but only when radiator / Thermostat gets clogged... I suggest to check `em out and clean... but still a li`l warmt is "Normal" ... at least on all EA82 I have seen... but Not Overheat. Good Luck! mikeshoup
Check to see how warm that 'warm' is. You may find its nothing out of the unordinary.

jimkup
My "88 DL Wagon (now has 250K+ miles & going strong) ran warm especially with A/C on & stop & go traffic. It really gets hot here in Texas. I did everything ...water pump, thermostat, system flush...but the thing that worked was installing a double core radiator on place of the factory single core. It was not an exact bolt in replacement, but with minimal engineering, it did the trick. Bought the thing on-line, but I don't recall who from. Do some searches for radiators & you'll find one.
