starkiller
noticed when i was trying to find my vacuum leak that there is hose coming from the drivers side of the air cleaner...its around 6-8 inches long and points down and is open, venting to the atmosphere i suppose...can i plug it? i keep getting kind of an exhaust smell in the cabin and am wondering if thats the culprit.... NorthWet
Alan, is it normal vacuum line sized hose, or is it more like a PCV hose? I don't have a carb'd EA82, so I can't go out and check, but I would suspect that it is either a PCV line or an ASV (Air Suction Valve) line... either, disconnected, could give you an exhausty smell. (The PCV would be a little more hot-oil smelling.)

()__1337_CRAYOLA__()>
No That Vent Is suppose To Be There Unhook Your EGR Valve To Reduce That Weird Smell... Thats What I Did On My 85 Gl Wagon (Carberated) And The Smell Was Reduced.
