RallyKeith
It was the last time you will ever see THAT Rally car.... http://www.rallyracers.net/stpr06/pages/IMG_0548.html and http://www.rallyracers.net/stpr06/pages/IMG_0572.html Other pictures @ http://www.rallyracers.net/stpr06 It's not unrepairable, but with everything else that shell has been through we are going to toss it. Already looking for a new shell... Cheap... Somewhere in the northeast. Keith

RallyKeith
oh man, that car was a beauty, i looked at it at carlisle:-\ that really is a shame Yeah, we had it repainted two weeks before carlisle. Good news is that Mechanically it's fine other than a busted radiator. Keith
Hocrest
Crap... Sorry to see that. I was reading the PR you wrote last week, where you wrote of the stumps hidden at the side of the road Good luck on the rebuild.
subeman90
FUDGE!!!!!!! (you know what word I really mean) I'll keep an eye open if i see anything cheap. If i see anything...does it have to be AWD?
RallyKeith
FUDGE!!!!!!! (you know what word I really mean) I'll keep an eye open if i see anything cheap. If i see anything...does it have to be AWD? Well, I'm 99% certain that the shells are all the same, and that we could make anything FWD into AWD. Since most of the early cars had drums, and we run discs, and the fact that we run a WRX driveline (engine, trans, diff) all that has to get swapped anyway. Also considering that the car's wiring harness is hand made for the swap we would have to swap over the wiring harness, so 5spd or automatic doesn't matter either. Right now he is considering fixing it. I personally wouldn't even consider it after all it has been through. Apparently the price range he is looking for is $500 or less. Something with a straight body/frame. Keith
idosubaru
if you think about fixing it, i have a 1997 OBS passengers side impact parts car. you can have the shell with the parts you'd need to fix this, doesn't look bad at all. this one would have the front cross member/radiator support, bumper, hood, drivers side doors. if i see a sedan for cheap i'll let you know. i saw something, wasn't a sedan, may have been an OBS for $700 somewhere but can't remember where. operose
too bad... just picked up a '95 sedan with NO rust for my brother's girlfriend for $500. if they didn't need it I'd pull the engine and trans as a donor for the legacy and sell you the shell on the cheap...... but they need a car, so I'll just keep my eyes open

nkx
that certainly explains why i didnt see the car at the stage i actually made it to... :-\ oh, and watch out for the FWD imps, apparently the gas tanks arent contoured to fit the rear diff, or something along those lines.
