Hank Roberts
Maybe others besides me have similar questions. Feel free to add your own. I've got some parts the previous owner threw in the back of the wagon, because he couldn't remember but thought they came off the Subaru. Recognize this? (Small image) This is flexible black plastic with a hose clip that's on a hinge, and a slot for ... something. http://www.flickr.com/photos/44124371575@N01/165972230/ Picture taken with a flatbed scanner. Sweet82
My 82 had a part similar to that... It was a splash guard for the distributor that hooked up to the air cleaner box and the bottom of the distributor area. The Subaru mechanics removed it from my car early on and wrote winter use only on it? Could that be a EA82 counter part part?
ausubaru92
Looks like something from the vent system, possably near the blower motor or somewhere down near your feet. Gannon
SOOBOUTLAW
Looks like a heater core cover. Or a cover in the engine bay maybe.
Holmes
It covers the little area where the EGR solenoid and the Purge solenoid reside. The little spot next to the IAC.

Ditto, sits right on the front of the engine. The little clip on the bottom (not the hose clamp) should have a matching thing on the front passenger side of the engine. The hose clamp clips on to the IAC hose. I think one of my cars has it, and the other doesn't...
