J A Blazer
Although the 6-disc changer in my 2000 OBW would accept discs, it would not play them; I replaced it with a single disc player and the setup now works fine, so that tells me that its not the head unit that's to blame. But any suggestions on where to send the changer for diagnosis and repair? Its too valuable a device (over $400 retail) to throw out. TIA. I'm in Fairfax Virginia if that matters. SuBrat84
Hey.. I know exactly what your problem is. I had it happen in my 6 disc changer. There is little plastic gears in there.. that inevitably break. I took mine apart to investigate.. and when I saw the broken gears I just gave up. I would imagine a small electronics repair shop maybe could fix it. I don't know how common the inner parts are however. I forget what brand the stuff is.. but try to find a stereo repair shop that would be familiar with that brand of equipment.
