whiteoutback
hi, i recently bought the subaru motion detector module, which installs under the passenger seat in my 2006 outback 2.5i. however the instructions are very vague. for example, the instructions imply that after installation, some sort of vehicle settings need to be changed to let the car know that it's installed . also, the suby kit is missing the nuts req'd to attach the device. any comments/info appreciated. the local dealers i phoned have never installed this dealer-installed option!!!! dpoppeli
Seems like it ought to be here, under "free publications" and "accessory installation" but I didn't find it. Good luck.... http://techinfo.subaru.com
Legacy777
If it's a factory item, you may want to ask on www.legacygt.com/forums and see if anyone has any experience with it.
fnlyfnd
I doubt the dealers would even tell you how to install it. They want your money.
Buick350X
You don't need that just a regular cheap alarm and a 12volt smoke machine. No one can steal a car with smoke bellowing out from under the dash. Also a dead give away. Just make sure it installed so it can be un-done. Even more evil would be to dump some peperspray into it. Sweet82
I installed the factory security system in my 01 Forester and it was "Plug and Play". First I had to install the "factory installed" keyless entry module for the locks. Didn't take 10 minutes and there were no settings that needed to be addressed? I reused the nuts/bolts that were already there. I believe it bolted to an existing mount for something (Forester). The only other things I had to do was program my remotes. I found the instructions really good and easy to follow. The only settings I can think of would be the sensitivity settings if it turns out to be too sensative once it's installed? whiteoutback
thanks, that's what i thought woudl be the case. One of those cases where if I had simply ignored the instructions, installed it, it woulda been simple. Instead I read the instructions, and got thrown by the cryptic instruction to program via 'SUbaru computer'.
