Thanks to a new puppy I have two pin holes leaks on the high pressure power steering hose. I know some auto stores will cut and make new hoses, is this one that they can build? it has the rubber in the center with the steel lines on each end.

Yes the junkyard is a good ideal, I thought about that after remembering I got the pump from Capital City junk yard in Austin, I am sure the hose is probably still there I will call them tomorrow.

You could try splicing a line in there, but I don't think it's a great idea.

You may want to try and find one from a junkyard.

We have a fenced in yard but I bought the car in to park under the shade tree and the dog lies under it, she got the hose down near where it goes in the gear box. I think she put her feet on the drive axle and started chewing. Now I have the car locked in the shop away from her. I hope that is all she chewed.

im more interested in finding out how the puppy got to the hose

No she has the taste for lots of things, water hoses, pant legs, fingers, anything else she can sink her teeth in. I dont think the hose was leaking before she got a hold of it.

thats alot of work, i guess the dog has a taste for hycraulic hose, or the sweetness of the fluid. Is it possible the hose was leaking already?

when mine was damaged (turbo fire)

I found a hydraulic hose and line industrial store

took the ps hose to them

15 mins later, it was like new

these are pressurized lines. not something to mess with.

leave it to the pros to repair

(there is likely one of these specialists near you)

or replace the lines with an OEM set.

good luck
