scrap487 Posted June 28, 2006 Share Posted June 28, 2006 thats cool.... and trust me a time will come when you will appreciate those tires. after having offroaded my beast with the tsl/sxs and then offroaded my stock subaru with stock bald touring tires and having seen some of the difficulties scoobyclimbs has had with lack of traction when he gets off to the side in ruts, you will definately appreciate those tires at some point in time, that and they are incredibly tough tires. I'll be harder on it when I get armor gg And I was filming, just carryign the tripod. When I panned over I tried to get a shot of that tree falling, but you couldnt see it, so I just let you guys hear it. Tires are great....wish I had them at times...But for most of what I do for now AT's work fine. I like the backdroop much like a rainforest ...reminds me of Olympic nat. park.. I'm going to have to rip all the plastic cladding off sooner or later because a lot of it is just hanging on by tape or glue. Speed is a delicate balance, you go as fast as possible, but as slow as necessary. If that means 5mph, then that's it. I have done hours at walking speeds, and I have done water crossings at 25+. Trying to avoid carnage is a good reason to slow it down. About eight years ago, I did the power lines in Flagstaff, AZ, about 14miles, in a 2wd Toyota pickup. Lots of riding the clutch, some obstacles took a couple attempts, but I did it without putting any visible dents in the truck, aside from the front air dam. 4x4_Welder Posted July 2, 2006 Share Posted July 2, 2006 It was off Harmony Lane or Stoney Mountain (more likely, I remember a hard turn) just past Snow Bowl Road, take the fire road out about five miles, and go up a really steep, rocky, rutted trail to the left. It was almost 10years ago, so I might be thinking of a different trail. I do remember it came out north of the Corral on 89.
