and yeah, I probably could have, but I dont like riding on rocks with 600$ touring tires. Although with the SSR's I think I could have done it in FWD, I never felt any slip (I drove most of the 3 mile trail)

thats cool.... and trust me a time will come when you will appreciate those tires. after having offroaded my beast with the tsl/sxs and then offroaded my stock subaru with stock bald touring tires and having seen some of the difficulties scoobyclimbs has had with lack of traction when he gets off to the side in ruts, you will definately appreciate those tires at some point in time, that and they are incredibly tough tires.

Nice video.. but wasn't that a bit slow?

are you running an auto, or 5spd?

and come on.. you dodged that mud hole towards the end there. GO FOR IT! you want mud all over the place, afterall that's what those tires are ment for. ;)

I didn't mean to bash anyone or anything, i just get bored easily... slow moving things don't catch my eye as much as sloppy flinging mud & scraping metal on rocks :D

Still, awesome video, can i borrow your camera man... ? well.. according to your credits... it seems that YOU are the camera man? and.. scott was driving? who's scott? :-p

I was having fun before filming in the mud, however I bashed into a rock which was in the middle of one of the pits. I'll be harder on it when I get armor :P gg

And I was filming, just carryign the tripod. When I panned over I tried to get a shot of that tree falling, but you couldnt see it, so I just let you guys hear it. (That was the crash when the music pauses)

nice video Brucey...but loose the tunes and drive faster...guess I'm just a purist... Tires are great....wish I had them at times...But for most of what I do for now AT's work fine. I like the backdroop much like a rainforest ...reminds me of Olympic nat. park..:burnout:

nice video, thats the kind of conditions i like wet and muddy but i'm with everyone else at least at that mudhole you should have punched it a little and threw up some mud. a little bashing won't hurt much of anything, you just don't have to get crazy.

uhhh that was the entire trail. The trail looped around the side of the mountain all the way down.

All the slow haters: Am I the only one that was taught to go as slow as possible?

yeah. everyone else who says to go slow are the same people who say that dented and broken body panels "add character"

I know it doesent look it, but the exterior of my wagon isnt really in good shape at all. I'm going to have to rip all the plastic cladding off sooner or later because a lot of it is just hanging on by tape or glue. And the window gasket on the passenger side is held on with electrical tape. Subaru quality :D

Ah, I see you found my driveway........

Well, ok, I keep the trees trimmed back from my drive.

Speed is a delicate balance, you go as fast as possible, but as slow as necessary. If that means 5mph, then that's it. I have done hours at walking speeds, and I have done water crossings at 25+. Trying to avoid carnage is a good reason to slow it down.

About eight years ago, I did the power lines in Flagstaff, AZ, about 14miles, in a 2wd Toyota pickup. Lots of riding the clutch, some obstacles took a couple attempts, but I did it without putting any visible dents in the truck, aside from the front air dam. It took me the better part of six hours, but I did get out and walk the trail in a few spots.

nothing wrong with getting out of the car to take a look.

Which line road is that?

I'd be down with cruising it...

It was off Harmony Lane or Stoney Mountain (more likely, I remember a hard turn) just past Snow Bowl Road, take the fire road out about five miles, and go up a really steep, rocky, rutted trail to the left.

It was almost 10years ago, so I might be thinking of a different trail. I do remember it came out north of the Corral on 89.

On edit:

Now that I think about it a little more, it might have been the gas line. I kept my eyes on the terrain more than the scenery-
