bryanthompson
Howdy -- Happy 4th! Was the front signal light trim on the 78's always black? From what I can find in the brochures, it appears so. But every car I've seen has bare aluminum trim. Have they all lost their paint over the years ? By the way, any one out there got a nice condition driver's side trim piece? Mine is a little dented. SUBARU3
They were black originally, but the late 78's were bare metal. And yes, the paint came off. Todd
bryanthompson
Thanks, Todd. After disassembling it and closer inspection, I found the remnants of black paint in the corners. Its amazing -- Looks like there was no surface prep or primer and the paint was ultra thin. I imagine it must have worn away very quickly. Anyways, they've now been repsrayed satin black and they look really good. Also had those top-surface bumper flanges powder-coated black. REXSPEEDWORTHY
checked mine out and found that it is only black where the 2 screws go on that top portion and by the grill.
