Just bought a 96 legacy wagon 5sp 152K for $2700! This car is mint. Ladies father in law owned it and he has every piece of paper for its history...the guy had the oil changed at the dealer! OMG. Only thing wrong is the shifter bushings are shot (can move shifter side to side while in gear...bushings right?) That's no big deal is it? Oh and its for my girlfriend...maybe I can steal the alloys off it.

There is a stabiliser that bolts to the rear of the hole that the shifter goes through. If that is loose (or not attached at all), the shifter will be able to move to the sides very easily, even while in gear. It is actually moving at the rear in that case. Also check the connection of the stabiliser to the tranny. That will do the same thing, only it will be moving in the front.

$2700 eh, well my Legacy looks like new, and runs exactly like new, and has same milage , so i should be able to fetch atleast $9000CAN and i spent like $8000CAN in repairs.

I paid $1700 for my Wagon and it has 165,000 km on it. It is in fantastic condition and if you look inside you would think it is new. Where are you located ericem, you are quoting CAN $$ so I am thinking you are a Canadian such as myself.

DOH! Nevermind, saw in your sig you are in Ontario. :D

Boy so id prob get $2000 lol. $8000 work only $-6000 profit, lol. Well im keeping my sub going for a long time then, no 2006 outback for another year or 2. Hey u find it cold in Edmonton? or warm, because here in woodbridge(close to toronto) its cooling down. And for some reason in USA they sell for way more! Over here this is where people need these cars, not in California!! They're made for snow!
