fredrogers
Well I fixed my over heating on the highway problems! It turned out to be a bad radiator. Thanks for the great advice! History: Original thread First try before asking USMB New water pump New thermostat Used Radiator (i pulled it off my soob that was not over heating, but has a bad clutch) Jumped electric fan switch After asking on USMB: New Radiator New Radiator Cap On my test run I got her up to 80 mph and turned on the AC and the temp gauge did not even move. I am so happy I got this licked. I thought it was a blown head gasket for sure. Thanks to all at the USMB! Special thanks to: mikeshoup and edrach -=fred=-
mikeshoup
By temp gauge did not move, you don't mean that it was bottomed out do ya? (stupid, I know, just have to ask sometimes)
fredrogers
I mean that that it came up to about 1/3 to 1/2 of the gauge and stayed there the whole drive. Thanks again! -=fred=- By temp gauge did not move, you don't mean that it was bottomed out do ya? edrach
Fred, glad to see it's working for you. Sometimes the simplest solution are the answer. Your car's symptoms were classic and you had eliminated the other things first. Good job. PS: I ordered a radiator from Spalding today for my Impreza....brand new $83 plus tax and shipping. I'm so happy.
