tizzle
Car: 88RX, currently has a 3 prong throttle position sensor, with 3 wires coming out the side, going into the wiring harness. I threw a japanese donor engine in there, it came with a 3 prong TPS* with no wires coming out the side, also note that the donor engine was probably an automatic. Is there a way I can make this work, or any better ideas. I almost positive this is why the car sucks so bad right now. Its been sitting for a loooong time. thanks guys. --Todd
Subarutex
I would have reused the stock intake manifold. Sounds like the manifold you have may be from an '86 car. Still have the old manifold laying around?

Elroy Jetson
Can't you use the old one with the extra wiring. Won't it just bolt in?? Wayne
tizzle
hmm, let me say this more clearly. I have the original manifold, and TPS on the car. That TPS is a 3prong with another set of wires coming out of the side(3wires, going to the wiring harness). From a manifold which I do not have on my car, is another TPS which is the same, except for the wires coming out of the side, so If I put that one in, something somewhere would not be getting information. I am open to any other suggestions to get this TPS problem fixed, buying a new one is out of the question. I just want to get my RX driving like it used to. thanks
Caboobaroo
pics would help dearly my friend. I have like, a million intakes from NA MPFIs and turbo MPFIs so I can help ID something if need be, without you pulling it all apart on your car.

I may have another one of these TPS's laying around here... but I'm going to guess that since my integrated TPS/idle switch 4prong unit on my Spider intake didn't work, that neither would the 3prong unit you have.
