Petersubaru
would anyone know if I can use the fuel pump from my SPFI and bolt it up to the turbo(EA82)..would there be enough pressure provided since the SPFI is smaller in diameter then the MPFI pump
Manarius
It would probably work..but why would you want to use a lowgrade pump for a high grade engine?
Petersubaru
just trying to save some money since I have a spare from a SPFI..my wife never drives the turbo car more then 3200rpm and since the rpm never goes very high and the fuel delivery is never at it's max...then I was hopeing the smaller pump would work... It would probably work..but why would you want to use a lowgrade pump for a high grade engine?

GLCraig
The MPFI Fuel Pump is rated 61-71PSI at 1.67 Pints/sec The SPFI Fuel Pump is rated 36-50PSI at 1.40 Pints/sec
ShawnW
Yours works cuz the FPR cuts it down. It wont be happy forever but in a pinch do it. Just remember...running lean is BAD news especially for a turbo.
