ezapar
What does 1+1 equal? 2.2!! I grabbed up Matt's pickle wagon. (THANKS MASS TO TEX FOR HAULING IT FOR ME!!!!!!!) The name will change soon. lol While working out getting it here last week, I was approched on another board and asked if I wanted a free legacy. Uh. . . OK. Got it here last night, managed to drive it most of the way, but one of the radiator hoses came off so we pulled it the rest of the way with my Toy. Whoever had it before the guy who gave it to me cut the radiator hoses to remove the radiator. So we kinda jimmied it in there. Got hot, shut it off. Why is this in the Off Road? Cuz for the first time in some time, I'm gonna let you guys in on my project as it progresses. I'll add to this thread as I go. I expect to get it on the road in the next 90 days. I don't have near as much time to work on it as I used to with an 18 month old running around demanding my attention. So no crying about me having a secretmobile this time. lol I know it pisses some of you off to not know for some reason.
NorthWet
So, are we talking transplant or making an offroad Legacy?
ezapar
2.2 offroad 84 wagon. . . The legacy is good and munched in the rear, hence the "free" part.

ezapar
Wagon or sedan? Munched-back = Baja-conversion!!!! Let us know if parting happens. No man, I'm gonna put the 2.2 into the green wagon in the picture. The legacy is the donor. I'm hoping to sell the tranny and a couple of other parts to finance the deal. Hoping to be as close to free as possible all said and done. Then I'm gonna give it to an old buddy of mine who needs a car. The legacy is a sedan. NorthWet
I understood that the 2.2 was going into the 84. I was just thinking that "free body" could mean "free let's try this"bashed-in back end might warrant a little Brat/Baja experiment. Rob, if that t-case was used on Nissans that came with the 2.4-L4 or the 3.0-V6, can't see any reason it can't handle the EJ22. BTW, sweet deal! TheSubaruJunkie
Thanks for sharing Zap. I for one hate secret mobiles... its like your trying to keep things from us, and arent we your friends? Friends share! I think that thing will look badass. So, if your thinkin of a 2.2... and then a T-Case, you must be thinking of 8-10" of lift too right? Cant wait to see it finished, but the WCSS is less than 90 days so looks like i'll only get to see pix of it on the board. -Brian
ezapar
More like 3 or 4 inches. I need to be able to drive it to Utah when it's done. It will be a daily driver after that.

4x4_Welder
If you aren't going to use the EA82 clutch and flywheel, can I get those from ya? That's actually 90% of why I wanted that car.
ezapar
Do I smell a Moab trip then too?? I don't know, but I doubt it. I re-learned at the Rubicon that really hate the desert. My only wheeling buddy these days will be shotgun with me, he'll probably want to. 4x4_WelderIf you aren't going to use the EA82 clutch and flywheel, can I get those from ya? That's actually 90% of why I wanted that car. Ya know, I'm not sure which clutch or flywheel I'll be using.

Now hurry up and embarass me and get it done; like tomorrow so McBrat can give me &*$_ LIKE FOREVER. I can't even touch it till next month. . . Wife works these next two weekends, leaving me only one weekend to get the cars I'm bringing ready for the Show. There still just might be some secretmobiling going on, who knows? Only the Show will tell what kind of fiddling I've been doing to my imp. I'll get it running though Shawn. Driving it before Xmas would be cool in my book. Ryanb
You got my favorite year of wagon, in my favorite subaru color, and you are doing the exact motor swap i don't have the balls to try yet...big respect. I can't wait to see it all done. Also can't wait to see the progress..what tranny are you gonna use?
ezapar
That green is my favorite Subaru color too. I'd like to mate the 2.2 to a 5 speed dual range. It already has one in it. I'm most likely going to try to sell the AWD AT tranny from the legacy to help finance it.
