xoomer
Hey I've got to fix my subaru. I can't figure it out I think its timing, its kinda surging a little.. Other problem is I got a set of Gauges and it says at idle that I only have 19-20 pounds Pressure? but when I accelerate it goes to 60? Is that ok>? xoomer
also, with this gauge cluster. and new thermostat it runs up to about 195 fan kicks on and runs about 190 I know that I got a 190 thermostat but shouldn't run below halfway on the dash? or should I go with like a 160? Grr... I may have fixed a few of my issues, by makeing sure I have my plug wires with a solid connection. havn't really checked other than it idles smoother now. torxxx
with a subaru, it will live as long as it has oil pressure and it raises when you hit the gas as for the fan/thermostat. the fan turning on has nothing to do with the temp thermostat you have. the thermoswitch on the fan turns it on @ around 185 F
xoomer
I realize that. but it seems to jump up strait to about 195 and sit there even just idleing. that was my experiance today but I hadn't burp the system but I'll investigate more tommorrow. Also in addition to this anyone know what the little adjusters run $$ on the back brakes? or would it be better to go to pap?
4x4_Welder
All that sounds pretty normal. In the oil pressure, as long as you have 10psi per 1000rpm, you're set. The temp will stay right where it needs to be at idle, and shouldn't go more than 20º more gonig down the road.
Ryanb
I know how far you are from portland, but you are more than welcome to use my timing light if you need.
rllywgn
i would agree with the above statements.. oil pressure around 10psi at idle (10-30 when the cars cold) and 10 psi per 1000rpm when at running temp, it will be higher until the oil heats up if your coolants at 190 degrees while driving your in good shape, some fluctation will occur depending on conditions ie. hills.. rllywgn
