Use the pugs! Mine are tuff as nails. If they have them, I would go with somthing like a 185-70R14 or 195-65R14. The pugs are plenty strong, and may even be lighter than the jackmans. Plus the shorter side wall of the 14" tires will help with cornering.

here are the sizes for the 14"

175/65QR14 = $78

185/65QR14 = $80

much of a difference for $2??

these will be a dedicated wheel set for gravel/off road mischief

will be doing some rally cross next season.....

from my limited experience. this last couple of times I really wished I was running a smaller tire. mine were 195 75 r14.

for regular off road use these are great but for rally X they made me sit too high and lose a bit of power.

if I were to run again I would get some little 13" rally tires. you could really get loose when needed. :burnout:

I did the home work on rally tires after I picked up the brigstone deuler a/t's.

now they are on the wagon.

you understand rally tires throws you into 4wd open class against the real rally cars? I did not know that when I got into it.

hey russ-

yeah- i know that that real tires throws you into the open class....

would you do the 165s or 195s for the 13"......??

smaller wheels are torquier right?

planning a trip to your neck of the woods soon, heading to pierce manifolds (gilroy) for some weber stuff ....

here's an upcoming event,

go 165.

yeah little wheels will do you well. ground clearance is not to big a problem with our cars. so in the case of rally X go small on the tire size. yeah more torque to the ground:headbang:

when are you going down this way?

thats a strange rally event. never heard of it.

RR-

relatively soon. gotta swap a family rig in Monterey this weekend

may leave Friday afternoon cause Pierce is closed on weekends.

Got logistical/family challenges right now, when resolved will contact ya

the event's a blast, coinsides and is on the same course as Pro Rally............some seriously fast stages, wide open, graded wide roads, a course worker said a broke 110mph in his WRX getting to his post with snow on the ground...............i was doing almost 90 in the X in 2wd....i think the Open class breaks 130mph......

stages are closed and there are no cops..........!!!!!

gumball

the wagon should be fun in the tighter sections w/out the stress off wrecking a new car............
