photos of ea-82 Turbocharger wanted, possibly have several to sell

Recommended Posts

okay, im being lazy.. but im about 99.9995% sure that im about to give some people a nice day.

over a year ago my uncle took over rent payments on a bay further down in his shop complex that was full of "datsun parts, racing 510 stuff, motors, transmission, a bunch of corvair stuff, you name it." He also a few years prior, had acquired a massive parts collection from this guy Peanut, who went with his wife to go do Missionary work in Haiti (they work with a food truck program.. she cooks and he fixes the trucks.) Anyhow, I _believe_ i have several new units, like new units, and new/like new components for the stock EA82T turbo. Also i think several NOS OEM ea-81? radiators, i think a passenger power mirror for an XT (white) and some other NOS soob stuff.. at one point we threw away like 50 shocks or strut cartridges for ~1980 subaru?? unidentified model.. but most of the stuff we have and are packratting... but need to get rid of!!!

i need a picture of the subaru turbocharger. one that i can use to identify an unknown part. the thing says ICI on it on the stamp, but thats all I can recall.

I dont wanna make any promises on coming up with the parts, but i want to try and get this stuff from my uncle and sell it here on the cheap, to make some friends, earn some karma, and maybe get some crap for my car... He has to get rid of it, wants to get rid of it, will happily split it 50/50 or better with me if i can get rid of it.. so this is gonna be cheap good stuff (its all like NOS i swear) but its not gonna be tomorrow. when i get any sort of inventory i will post, but i need some initial help in identifying some of the stuff.. and i need time to actually FIND it all.

thanks for the help.. it might even be reciprocated...

I have a turbo that I can take a couple pics of... just need to find the time tomorrow... plus some light would be helpful (I just got home and it is 3am here).

I have a 510, so if there are any 510 goodies left I might be interested. Well, I AM interested, just got to shake some money loose from somewhere.

heh.. i dont know what kind of "goodies..." in the interests of brevity (something that ALWAYS eludes me, maybe because of my fondness for parentheticals....) i failed to mention that we sorta got hosed. there wasnt a whole lot of "goodies" of much of any sort, unless youre a corvair guy... but there were some things. what year 510 you got? we have some drivelines and motors, and some body panels and doors/hoods/trunklids.. but alot of datsun stuff in general. unfortuantely, an inventory is.. a bloody joke. FINDING anything you are looking for in this (currently) mess of parts is a joke. looking around hopelessly at the amount of work to be done to move ANY of it out of our possession is about the only thing that we do with ease.... BUT when i go i will keep that in mind. I should have known that, ive heard you talk about the 510 before. thanks on the pics, in advance. an EA 81 radiator part number would be handy too. I say ea81 because i saw it and i knew it was much larger than my rad on the GL10.. who knows they might be dual core ea82s :- )

Or they could be 70's radiators.This is from a manual printed in 1987 for the 70's. p/n's = 645010180,645010491 for automatic,645010470 or 645010460....

This one was from a 1980 FPM: p/n = 745111040 and 745111050

Hope that helps, good luck.Note the sides, that'll tell you which production it is.

Good luck with the Karma game too.I did that and you'll still get a good kick in the teeth sooner or later no matter how nice you try to be.

Yeah - all the ones I've ever encountered were 2 row. Also the EA81's tend to cool a lot better than the EA82's, or they just last longer. People who have done EJ conversions report the EA81 radiator is plenty for the EJ...

GD

2-row core, all metal, and copper/brass at that. Built ot last, built to cool. what is not to like?

ach, i forgot about this thread.. hectic week.

hmm... well to be honest that doesnt look quite right. I'll have to snap some pics and post them when i get a chance (dont have my own digi cam, so thats not as easy as it could be)

I got back there after examining the turbochargers, looked deeper at the soob pile and found some seatbelt assemblies, what looked like a brand new hitachi carb, what looked like a wiper motor (brand new, must get some part numbers here) and my uncle said something about some distributors.. All NOS, as far as we could tell, as I recall. but i was standing astride a pile of parts that was obstructing access to most of it, so its something of a project to get to, heh.. not to mention the low priority of it. Thanks for the pics anyhow, now i have a good place to come back and look when i need it. If you see this thread bubble back up to the surface in the remote and unpredictable future, check it out.. it might be me saying "here come da parts."

You pm or email me and I'll let you know what parts you have.

How about the radiators?

I just bought one off of eBay,naturally.:-\

I'd put that carb on eBay if I were you. Of course,if you want to cut me a deal for helping you with the part numbers.....:) ......:brow:

What color is the box the carb is in?If it's the old black, red, and white it'll probably be for the early 70's
