What kind of emissions stuff are you looking to get rid of? Most of the stuff is pretty necessary (PCV system most notably). You could probably drop a cat, but you'd fail a visual so...
Cat poked out, egr stuff like. I run my carbed model with no pcv,egr and even pluged that steal tube that comes from the head to the intake not worried about passing because i dont have it in my area. Allso what about air control valve?

The only emissions stuff I'd ditch is the cat (only if it's bad/plugged) and the AIR system. The EGR lets you make more power if you know how to tune it right, and the PCV system keeps seals and gaskets intact, and keeps you from blowing oil on the pavement, or have it drip from the road draft tube after you shut it down.

I've actually gone through quite a bit to put EGR systems onto some of the engines I've built, so I could run greater spark advance and burn leaner without damage to the engine.

The emissions devices on the EA82 SPFI can be summed up thusly:

1. PCV system. 100% neccesary for proper crankcase ventilation - do NOT touch

2. EGR system. I eliminated it, but you either have to keep the solenoid, or replace it with a resistor to fool the ECU into not throwing a code.

3. EVAP system. I eleminated this as well, but again same story with it's solenoid. Be prepared to smell fuel as without the evap, the fuel tank vapor will just vent under your hood.

4. Catalytic converter. Cut hole, gut cat, weld up hole. Replace heat sheild for a stock look that won't cook your axle boots.

What will you gain from all this? Absolutely zilch. I did it because I was putting the SPFI on my EA81, and didn't want the complexity of the hoses, and trying to locate a spot for the evap cannistor.
