johnceggleston Posted August 27, 2006 Share Posted August 27, 2006 first the exhaust has to be cold, not hot. spray ti wit hpenetrating oil and let it sit. unplug the wires, this was pretty hard on the rear one on my 97obw. the unscrewing isint bad if you soak it. just don't break it. is changing one on a 90 legacy a hard job. do they come out easy or are they stuck in there pretty good. porcupine73 Posted August 27, 2006 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Soak in good penetrating oil like kroil for a few days at least before attempting removal. I've had excellent results with exhaust/engine cold, then starting and running for maybe 30 seconds, just enough to warm the pipe, and then maybe running 30 more seconds if still tight, and then it comes right out. Couldn't budge it exhaust fully cold. Also depends on if it was replaced previously or not and if so whether good hi temp antisieze was used. Manarius Posted August 28, 2006 Share Posted August 28, 2006 90's have only one sensor. From the looks of the one on my 91, I bet I could get it off without any penetration solution.
