Im sure i have posted this question before but it didn't exactly understand what to do. I looked under the vehicle while wobbling the steering wheel between where it play's about 1-2 cm off play. Im driving a 1993 legacy. Anyone have any ideas thanks.

could definitely be the tie rods. Or the bushings. I put on some superpro steering rack bushings and it made a HUGE difference. Might be the rack but mine is sort of fine at 164k (I replaced my suspension, and hit a curb and am dealing with a slight steering/handing issue that seems to be a strut).

I had the same problem once. Here's what solved it. Maybe it will work for you. Look where the steering column exit the firewall on the engine side. Follow the column to where there are TWO universal joints in line just before the column connects to the steering rack (you can access it from above). In my case the second one (lowest one) was loose. A turn of the ratchet solved the problem.

Good luck!
