Hondasucks
I've got an 86 XT that the rear seat in it is trashed, but since I have the original key, I can still lock the rear seat. I got some seats out of an XT6 and I'd like to retain the locking function, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the lock cylinder out of the seat, any suggestions? I don't care if I trash the original seat since the cover is trashed anyway, but I don't want to fubar the new seat if I can help it.
Turbone
I think you answered your own question. Trash the old seat to figure it out.

idosubaru
i can't help much. i do recall trying to remove one before and after a few minutes of looking at it, determined it was a PITA and i would swap seats if need be. that being said....just get a new seat with the key and have a separate key for the rear seat. or grab all of the lock cylinders for the trunk and doors, they aren't that hard to swap. this is of course after the Turbone method which i would use....rip apart the old backseat to find out. they are a dime a dozen and it's 20 years old anyway. waimaks
Yeeep. I said the same thing too when I had my XT You know the tab you pull down to un-latch the seat, lift it up and thare she goes! Little plastic(?) key hole. Yeah I never used it though....
Hondasucks
I got it, the cylinder snapped right out with a trim tool :-) I had to get it out since the seat was in the locked position lol
