I'm thinking of replacing mine with one that puts our more amps. Does anyone know if higher amp units are readily available and what price I may expect to pay for one? Numbchux Posted September 11, 2006 Share Posted September 11, 2006 oh yea, the stock unit is a 60amp unit, IIRC. the 90amp XT6 alt can be fit in there, but it's not the easiest conversion. however, the 100amp GM alt from the late 80s is a pretty common conversion.
