johnnysubaru
hey everyone, I know there are many threads about this type of upgrade, but I wasn't able to find out any info on MY2002, all were 1999 and below. I have a stock 2002 Legacy L, 205/65 R 15 tires. I am interested in lifting it and increasing tire size. Is it as simple as ordering Outback springs and struts? I saw in some cases people swap out some things for forestor parts, is that needed in this application? The L came with 15" steel wheels. I changed them to 15" alloy Outback wheels. If the lift is done, what would be a good tire size and brand to use. Will this affect the speedsensor and throw off my speedo? Thank you!
porcupine73
Yes if you change the diameter of the tires your speedo will be off, I would imagine by a factor of the ratio of the circumferences or diameters or radius, i.e. 20 inch diameter going to 21 inch diameter = 20/21=.9523 so at 55mph your speedo would read about 52.4.
