lpasco
ok i searched, but couldent find much info on it. 99 forester 2.5l sohc man transmission 80,000 miles I baught a 99 forester a couple weeks ago only to find it was burning a qt of oil every 200 miles, running rough, check engine light came on with cyl number 3 misfire, and blowing blue smoke out muffler when first starting and sometimes when driving. I did a compression test and found cyl 3 plug oily and only had 50 lbs compression and number one had 150. i tried new plugs and new pcv valve allready with no difference is it safe to assume i need new pistion rings? could it be something else? as we speek i have everything from my engine disconected from the vehicle except 3 motor mounts, engine to transmission and transmission axles and driveline. is it easier and quicker to remove engine and tranny together or to remove just the tranny thanks
lpasco
one more thing. If i leave the tranny in there (man trans) whats involved in seperating it from the tranny and mating the new engine to tranny? 4 bolts in back, hyd clutch piston, and and and? thanks
