monkeyhawk71
Anybody have any experience with putting larger tires on a 98 era Forester? I want to gain some clearance without wrecking my t-case or something.
Sweet82
Slighly oversized tires shouldn't do anything to your tranny. Impreza's and Foresters are the same platform. Many a Impreza and Forester has had larger tires put on it. How big of tires were you thinking?

This, as I was insistant about getting white letter tires. No problem whatsoever. I do recomend you always run four identical tires on these all wheel drive cars. Those tires will gain you 11mm of ground clearance, which I definitely noticed. The rear strut spring base prevents you from mounting a larger tire. If you have a 5 speed, you'll lose a bit of slow speed grunt though, due to the change in gear ratio.
