Indrid cold
I have an 88 dl wagon. I got a chance to buy (pugs) 14" rims or 15" rims... mainly for light off road and commute. ... possibly do a lift in the winter... I just want to give the car a bit of a lift with the tires... any preference regarding the 14" or 15" rims? Will 14" make that much of a difference? and just hold out for the 15"? seems the bigger rims have a better selection on tires... but will probably have to lift in order for the 15" tires to clear...? your thoughts... thanks guys, all good info... learning as I go along so great to have this board. GeneralDisorder
I like 15's myself. Larger tire selection. But if you aren't going too big, 14's are good too. Less rim, more tire is good off-road. Just make yourself a lift kit - it's really not that hard. SJR sells just the strut tower bits, and the rest are just simple blocks. Phizinza
Its hard to find anything smaller then 27" in 15" rim size. So if you don't want big go the 14"s But there is a bigger (cheaper?) sellection for the 15" rims.
daeron
if you go shopping at tirerack.com, you can select any particular size you want.. and once youre looking at a tire, you can select to see "sizes & pricing" for that tire. That link goes to a chart with all available sizes for that model tire, and has tons of specs on each, including outside diameter or circumference, i forget which.... but you can compare available tires along with side-by-side comparison to stock tire size, if you want...
