mellow65
Ok I'm going to be a complete moron and ask for help IDing what parts go where. I got a EA82 high lift from Allied Armament and I get where some things go but still am drawing a blank where the other stuff goes. So please help and no laughing. A. goes on top of the front struts B. ???? C. ???? D. ???? E. Goes on top of the rear springs F. ???? Thanks for any help.
Numbchux
B. between Engine crossmember and framerails C. drops rear diff hanger (between carrier mounts and framerail, on either side of gas tank) D. drops radius rod bracket (rod that goes back from the front control arms) and transmission crossmember F. drops driveshaft center carrier bearing bracket I'll see if I can find some pics of it all installed on my car engine crossmember block, from the outside of the wheel well: radius rod bracket/tranny xmember on left. (the 2 blocks you see on the right are for the shift linkage gaurd....I have since removed that...it's really optional). they have since upgraded the blocks from 3 individual pieces like you see here, to the 'one piece' creation used now. but it's the same place. mellow65
Ok that truly helps. But one more thing, they claim that the back is adjustable between 4" or 5" how would this work, it looks like every thing on the back only has one place to mount. Or now that I reread the discription, I think I got the mounts for the 3" rear because it says that the 3" uses a lift at the top of the shock where the 4" uses something at the bottom of the shock and is adjustable to 5". Well I am going out there to pick up some rims from them so I will take it with me and ask. But input would still be cool if any one knows. Hodaka Rider
Moderate lift is not adjustable. I took pics and such when I installed mine, let me know if you get stuck. I had offered to re-write the instruction book for them, because it kinda lacks, but they were already deep into the thought process of stopping the Subaru stuff at the time I think. I did mine with some help from an impact gun, made it easier. What kind of tool / shop setup do you have?
goobaroo
u can always tighten or losen the torsion bar, that will increase/decrease the preload and raise/lower the ride hight. (or is that just on ea81's)

(or is that just on ea81's) Thats ea81s only, but some 82s have adjustable rear struts. not mine tho:( ALSO!!! on part A it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT you get them on the right side and direction... the instructios do suck bad and if its in wrong your camber will be off.... Oh yes the impact will be my best friend too during this.
Numbchux
only the first few lifts got the adjustable rear extensions....they look like this: even if you got high-clearance, I beleive you get those drop plates for the top.

Well I am going to ask them when I go pick up my rims tomorrow.

You were right they stopped making it this way and went to the top mount only. Guess to many people were cranking them all the way out and breaking them. I did a little whining and got a set though. And he gave me the drop plates from the moderate lift also, so now I have a range of 3"-5" of lift in the back to pick my ride hight. And do my rims look fricking awesome. Got a white set for class and a black set for bad rump roast, now soon, it all comes together.

I ran with it at 5" for a month or so, and blew up (quite literally) 2 rear axles. I have since gotten a 2" diff shim, and cranked it back up to 5" without trouble for almost a year. Yeah I saw you posting in the group buy about that. If I decide to go that route I will check into the diff shim. And when you say diff shim you are meaning this right. torxxx
I wouldnt even go that serious on the rear diff hanger drop down. I used 1 3/4 inch square tubing, drilled holes in it. took about 10 min to fab up and 10 min to install. 15,000 miles on it and have had no problems
