bcool
I posted this in my previous thread but i figured i'd share it in a new thread. After looking around on the forum all i can seem to find searching through injector threads are people scrounging around for 280ZX injectors and 300zx injectors. so, i thought i'd share what i did. The injectors i used I got out of a big box of random stock injectors at my local speed shop i have no clue of the CC's, long story short 3 out of 4 injectors froze on my car and wanted to get it fixed fast and cheap. Anyways, i was originally going to use the 550cc injectors off of my RX-7 TII motor, but i think it would drown the roo w/o a form of fuel management. The injectors are the exact same bosh body and even are low impedence. So total cost for me on this one was: $2 for 8" of fuel injection hose $3 for hose clamps $10 for injectors Heres a bit of reference: Stock RX-7 TII Injectors: 550CC Stock RX-7 N/a injectors: 460CC Stock DSM injectors: I think around the 440-460 range, i'll have to double check Heres some pictures of the injectors. Stockers The new specimens of unknown CC's 1st finalized injector All 4 almost ready to go. I should mention that i also installed an o-ring in the groves. I'm happy to report that the car runs and there are no leaks.
WheaT_BeeR_MaN
sweet, good to know. id like to put some bigger injectors on my rx. thanks
Caboobaroo
I put some 280ZX turbo injectors in my RX with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I took the FPR back out and put the stock one back in it to work out some other issues I was having so once I get some sort of fuel management setup, I'll be putting the AFP back in and cranking up the boost with the fuel pressure! But good to know, according to my narrowband a/f gauge, it doesn't run anywhere near lean when under load and boost. It stays actualy closer to rich so thats a little better:rolleyes:
ea82tdo4
I dont get it, he says 280zx/300zx injectors in his post, are they the same? Has any one tried dsm or rx7 injectors? Or is the best option for a tdo4 ea82t still 280zx turbo injectors?
mikeshoup
The tradition here is to find Nissan 280zx/300zx injectors. He's stating that there are plenty more injectors such as the ones from an RX-7 instead of the 280zx/300zx that will fit.

Caboobaroo
Savage']yea just make sure that u use a different FPR otherwise the ECU will ************. the ECU will hate you regardless..... I swapped the injectors like I said a few months ago, but the ECU hated the fact that they were bigger and thus, gave me hell...
ea82tdo4
Im still not clear on this, he states that he pulled the specimens of unknown cc out of a box of random injectors, how do we know if he used rx7 n/a injectors or mitsubishi dsm injectors? I was searching and learned that the 280zx turbo injectors are 269cc and i belive our stock ea82t are 180cc or is it 245cc? Anyone able to clear this up for me? I have a 88 wagon w/td04 and wrx topmount, not looking to make much power just avoid leanin it out with some fuel mods, what should I do? thx:headbang:
Caboobaroo
280ZX turbo injectors are roughly 260cc whereas the EA82T injectors are 185ccs roughly. Remember, even though they're bigger, the ECU won't like the fact that they're different and the car won't quite like you. It'll run funny, idle funny and will have a slight shudder at about 4k rpms. At least my RX did when I had it running... TD04, WRX TMIC, Nissan 280ZX turbo injectors, spyder intake, AFPR, 3" bellmouth downpipe, stock EA82T with Delta 260 cams, and a few other small items. ea82tdo4
Well its possible that other things caused those problems like the cams or fpr maybe. So do you think 280zx turbo injectors are the way to go or should i go rx7 460's or dsm 450's? SAFC to compensate??? or are there other mods to get them to work right?thx

A MegaSquirt kit is the most used here on the board and there's a few people who have built them themselves or have decided they were going to make a few for people, plus there's some that have boughten a kit and made it work with the EA82T. My problem is I was running a stock ECU with all of my mods, shoulda been one of the things to do before I decided to scrap the car after its 3rd engine:rolleyes:
