nathan.chase
My car was deamed totalled (see previous post) and I am wondering what she is worth? I live in Humboldt county on the coast of Northern California. The car is a 1987 GL 4wd wagon, N/A, 5sp. AC, power mirrors, roof racks, immaculate interior, a little of the typical exterior rust, Performance CD/ipod Desk, new tires. 220k what's she worth? she was a great car I hate to see her junked and I will see what my options are about keeping her on the road. thanks for your help and hopefully I will get my moneys worth from the insurance company! -nate
GeneralDisorder
Frankly, about $500-$800 give or take. Unless it's really something special, it's a 20 year old car with (what most people consider to be) high mileage, and your insurance will treat it as such. Tell them you want $1000 and consider yourself lucky if you get it. Try to get the car back - at least some of the mechanicals can probably be saved. Definately take your deck, and the roof racks if you can get access to it. Claim that you left something in the car and need to get into it if you have to. GD I looked at KBB at it is rated for around 1200. I know I can get other for roughly 800-1000. I am thinking that I can ask about 1500 for it as I have seen adds on Craigslist for similar at that price. Hopefully my arguement goes well with the adjuster! -nate

WagonsOnly
I can mail you a copy of a dealer's purchase order for an '86 d/r 5spd, carbed wagon for $1200. With photos of my car, if necessary. It was purchased on or about 8/1.

I don't believe I will actually need the litteral evidence but just to say I can produce the evidence will suffice. If in fact the adjuster really want to see the paper I would be very thankful for your help. Thank You -nathan Chase
