That video of the Murano is Horse************. I've crawled up both a wet grassy hill and a similar dirt slope at a construction site with our Murano. The reason? There is a button on the console you hit that locks the diffs at low ( less than 6mph ) speeds. Go faster than 6 mph and it automatically unlocks them again. Hit the buttom, gerbytoad...

I have no doubt that the subie awd is superior overall, but that video so annoyingly biased...and no beer or chicks in it either!

I still think it's an interesting test and potentially far more useful then the typical "road" test most magazines do. I'd like to see a third party do the tests (and pick the tests to do) and have an unbiased commentator instead of that idiot.

A lot of people don't realize all four wheel drive systems are not the same and it would be nice to see a test that pushes them to their limit.

The only valid test in that video is the hillclimb. The other tests had so many variables in them that they were pointless. Different tires, purposefully agresssive "profesional" drivers, differing speeds, all could have contirubuted to the results. The narrator was "leading the witness" with his comments on ride quality. I couldn't see a difference in how the compared vehicles bounced.

I'd love to see a Subaru video of Outbacks with Bridgestone ImPotenza RE92A's on snow. That won't happen.

Speaking of beer and chicks, my theory is that the CEO of SOA got his orders to equip the car with them after someone at home did some contract signing after a long night out......
