PonchoCatalina
The A/C compressor won't even try to engage on my 91 Loyale wagon. I would like to jump the low pressure cutoff switch to see if the problem is just a lack of refrigerant, but I can't find the darned switch. I expected to find a plug on the accumulator/drier, but I sure couldn't see any. I assume therefore it must be in the low-pressure line somewhere, but I traced it and didn't spot what I was expecting. What exactly am I looking for, and where is it? Thanks! Cougar
I think you were close. My info for an '88 model shows there is a switch connector that is near the passenger headlight area
Frank B
on my 89 gl-10 it was on the accumulator/drier, but when I replaced the drier the new one had no provision for it. There were two wires to jump, one for the compressor clutch, one for the cooling fan. I crimped the clutch wires together permanently, but the fan wires I used a set of 1/4" spade connectors so I can unplug it during the winter months. If not it will run anytime the key is on. Just keep an eye on the freon pressures by checking it now and again, if it gets low your system will not shut itself down without that pressure switch and you'll fry the compressor. daeron
there is also a little pulse sensor that mounts hanging in front of the pulley that has to be lined up good and plugged in to get it to work, too.
