eagleb
Does anyone know of an honest subaru mechanic in the portland or beaverton, Oregon area? I have a few things I would like to have checked out on my 96 2.5 OBW AT (110k). Off and on, there are slight signs of torque bind, temp guage rises to the top of the icon going uphill (under load) SOMETIMES then drops, seems to be idling rough. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm wary of going to a dealer as I don't want to get bent over (don't know enough about the car's problems to tell them no). So, if anyone knows of a good, honest suby mechanic, or if you yourself are a good, honest suby mechanic, in northwest Oregon, please help me out. Thank you. Cougar
Check out fellow forum member Richierich. I think he has a Subaru shop in Portland still. Great guy to deal with. You can send him a private message or this email address may work also. p1mpdady2k@hotmail.com

later, Peter
If you're still looking... try Dan's Subaru Service near the Tualatin GI Joe's. not cheap but they used to be honest & extremely Subaru knowledgable. Later, Peter
richierich
Hi this is Richie and my father and I own Superior Import Repair, Inc in Portland, OR. My father has been working on Subarus since 1979, but we mostly work on 92-2002 Subarus right now. We have a lot of experience with torque bind (do about 2-3 duty solenoid C a month) but also have some very easy fixes if the "AT Temp" light is not flashing. Have saved people hundreds of dollars after having the dealership tell them they needed a new clutch pack I usually do not hop on to these topics as other do very well talking about us, but Cougar info is outdates so...... My email is richslaw@hotmail.com or PM me. Our website is www.fixmysuby.com but is under construction so it only has the basic info right now. I do not like talking bad about other shops but to say that Dan's is overpriced is an understatement. It is also not owned by Dan anymore so that has effected it.
