Jibs
So I have eveything hooked up (fuel cell, filter, lines, regulator) and the Brat still doesn't run. Gas is DEFINITELY getting TO the carb, just not past it. fuel just drips into the carb and the Brat will not start. Doesn't even try to turn over, just acts like no fuel. What could the problem be? I had the carb checked, everything is clean, air flows through just fine. I've adjusted the regulator all the way up and all the way down. I'm about ---><--- to just scrapping this whole Brat with the amount of money I have invested into it and to still not have it run.

GeneralDisorder
What type of carb are you running? Does it have an idle cut solenoid and if so does it have power? Does fuel pump out of the hose with it disconnected from the carb (like into a fuel can)? GD

Stock turns, vacuum lines are all plugged, regulator is a holley, works fine, fuel pumps through real well. What type of carb are you running? Does it have an idle cut solenoid and if so does it have power? Does fuel pump out of the hose with it disconnected from the carb (like into a fuel can)? Its a weber, yeah it has power to it, I've tried to wire it seperate even. Fuel spits out fine into a can all the way through up to the carb. GeneralDisorder
Ok - the carb is getting fuel. So we can rule out the fuel system. Apparently the carb needs some work. Lets start with.... have you ever had a weber to peices? FIRST thing - operate the throttle manually and see if your accelerator pump is working. You should see a strong stream of fuel squirt directly into the main barrel above the throttle plate from the accelerator pump nozzle. If you don't see fuel, either the accelerator pump isn't working, or more likely, considering your no-run condition, the float bowl is empty (stuck float) I think now is an excelent time to check the operation of the float, and to at least blow out the jets, and and air bleeds with some compressed air. Sounds to me like either the main jets are clogged, or the float is stuck. Pop the top off that sucker and have a look. Also pull out the idle jet on the front (either a big bolt-looking thing, or if you have the idle cut solenoid, unscrew that). Blow some compressed air in where the idle jet goes, and into the hole for the idle mixture screw. While you have the top off take off the accelerator pump nozzle and blow that out too. mcbrat
if you take the carb top off, I'd check to see if there's anything stuck in the emulsion tubes.... I'd reset the idle mixture screw as well. turn it in until the spring is compressed all the way, but don't force it any further. then back it out 3 full turns.... I'd reset your timing to stock, and besure your throttle linkage is set properly... I'd guess you don't have an idle cut-off solenoid since you bought a new kit... daeron
a book about weber carburetors is a GREAT tool for tuning them... most of my carb experience (beyond being an "assistant" is nothing but having read a carb book.. granted, that one was a haynes about SU sidedraft carbs, but books freakin rock you pay those guys to figure out how to tell you how to do EVERYTHING to the carb.
