Sonicfrog
What are the signs of a bad fuel injector. Murphy, the $500 87 now FT4WD T-Wag, is running good, but still has a bit of a knockish sound, and has a bit, just a bit, of a blank spot while accelerating. This might be due to damage from the recent overheating on the Grapevine grade in So Cal. It might have been there before, but was less noticeable due to the damping effects of the torque converter and crappy 3 speed AT.
soobscript
Use screwdriver as stethescope to see if they're all firing. You may still hear clicking from the others if one is not clicking, but the good ones will be MUCH louder. Unplug one injector wire plug at a time. If engine changes, that one is good. If no change to engine, that cylinder is bad (fuel, spark, or compression). Unplug all injectors and measure resistance between the two pins. Should be ~2.5 ohms. Short circuit is bad, open is bad. Those will tell you something.
daeron
might also want to check the TPS (throttle position sensor) and the MAF (or whatever the proper abbreviation is for the part on your car )
