Sounds like there's some issue with the setup that normally energizes a solenoid when the key is on and the brake is pressed and the lever is in park. Steve455 Posted October 21, 2006 Author Share Posted October 21, 2006 Im also getting a clunking noise frome the rear axle when i turn the car,would this be torque bind ? I bought the car for $250 because of blown head gaskets and just started driving the car today. everything is working good except the shiffter and the clunking coming from the back.The owner before me was also driving the car around on the temp tire in the back. lmdew Posted October 21, 2006 Share Posted October 21, 2006 Could be, make sure all tires are the same and have the proper pressure. Try putting in the FWD fuse and see if the FWD light comes on and the problem goes away. If so flush the trans. I have an extra shifer assy if you want it. $20+shipping from CO.
