Putting '96 Legacy L seats in a 2k Forester

Are the rails the same? If it's easy I just might do this after my legacy dies. The forester seats are cheezy, small and uncomfortable.

They may be differnt, since they are differnt cars with differnt crash test results and charecteristics.

I think the main issue woudl be side clearance, but it would only take you an hour or two to try it out. Forester is Impreza width.

Why would you use 96 Legacy L seats? They suck - they're hard, not supportive and generally uncomfortable. (Why did I buy this car again?:-\ )

 

I'd look at seats from a Legacy GT or a more current year.

I would investigate if either car has seat weight sensors. My 99 Forester does not I believe.

Sometimes the tricky thing about seat swaps these days is wiring.

ditto the last two posts. the wife's '96 L wagons' seats are not very comfy. I drove it a few months ago up to middle Georgia for a week... and it just wasnt very comfortable to me. I actually prefered the seats in my '90 Tracker. The wife likes em though. Every seat does fit different sized people differently, too.
