subeman90
ok here is the deal....I am going to hook up a board member with my snow tires/wheels off of the 83 GL and they are going to put them on say a 92 loyale. Will the wheels fit from one car to another. I remember something about brakes hitting but ??????? FWIW, the 92 in question is a 2wd car and the 83 is a beautiful black car with really low miles on it....and yes I realize i am just rambling right now but i am having withdraw from not driving that really nice black 83 GL. (shhhh its sleeping for the winter already ) And just b/c it is my thread and I am in a strange mood...I am going to make my post eleventybillion times better with a few naners...
Cougar
I don't think the rim will fit. The change over in '85 called for a different rim I believe.
NoahDL88
Ea-81 rims generally do not fit around EA-82 front rotors
Numbchux
Ea-81 rims generally do not fit around EA-82 front rotors correct, and just for the record, there is no difference in the brakes from FWD to 4WD. usually, it's the steelies. it may still be worth a test fit, but don't be dissapointed if they don't fit. Phizinza
generally Looks like it's a test it out situation. This is what I have heard too. Some fit, most don't.
subeman90
Thanks guys...I was 95% sure this was the answer before i posted but i wanted to be 100%. My main problem with "test fitting" is that the cars are about 150 miles apart. Thanks again guys.
nkx
matt, if you need someone to help you test fit to double check, youre more than welcome to try to put one on my wagon.
subeman90
Thanks john....I just had a bright idea....there is a loyale sedan FS at a car lot about 2 miles from here. I might have to take an extended test drive. But if that doesn't work out....I might take you up on that.

Bucky92
Hey Matt..Since Bucky is the 92 Loyale in question its really not a big deal...I happen to have a tire guy who will swap the rims super cheap!...Will just give me another reason to come back home to PA to Harrys U Pull it to swipe a couple more rims.. If I wait a couple more weeks I may be looking for XT6 parts and I happen to know where there is a couple. ;) ..You still the man Matt and I still want them...and dont forget..sometime I soon I should have my EA81 back again:banana:
subeman90
you let me know when, what, and how and we'll go from there....they are holding the front of the 83 up at the moment so i don't think they are going anywhere....
jacobs
It seems like I read in a previous post here that with a "little" grinding on the front caliper, they will fit.
subeman90
I was wondering about that too....hmmmmm:D
DaveT
It seems like I read in a previous post here that with a "little" grinding on the front caliper, they will fit. I made a spacer for them years ago. It was either 1/8" or 1/4" thick.
