Can a SVX starter fits.....

Recommended Posts

the SVX engine will bolt up to any EJ transmission just fine so it should fit just fine but whether the gears mesh and align right is another question. if you get it, you can probably give it a visual and be good to go.

EJ22 starters are a dime a dozen though, so i wouldn't waste the time checking myself.

I hate to do this, but yes in fact I am parting out one of my SVX. It was in a wreck and trany went out, its beyond saveable...........:(

You don't have a spare SVX motor to go with that starter do you?

The starter should bolt up, same tranny, people do the manual tranny swap and put the same flywheel as the legacy's on. So, Yes, it will bolt up and work.

The SVX starter is longer/bigger than legacy's and It was position differently as well. so it wont work

just found out Subaru starters have 2 designs. I doubt SVX will fit MY 95 Legacy. But after some serious measurement, it looked like it could work. So I mounted the SVX starter on legacy( It would bolt right on ) But the wire had to routed differently. It started right up, and I tried many times and it worked great:banana:

Thanks to everyone!!!
