Still working on that, time and materials.

we pay through the nose for genuine rubber ones here in Aus,

the cheap ones don't last....the genuine ones don't last much longer.

I am no bandit...we will work out something fair.

Ballpark, probably $50-60 Aust a side.

ISH!

(subject to everything)

Let me see how long it takes me and how the first run goes...

I have some very appropriate testers who have volounteered.

I bloody hope someone is interested- the amount of whining and whinging I see here about split CV boots is astounding.

Those with turbos seem to melt the nearside one too.

Heavy duty marine grade suede will not melt or tear.

I will post a progress report.

Sounds great, but the boots I put on mine still look new after 10,000km. They are just aftermarket cheapies from the auto store.

Put it this way, I've gone through two outter CV's and the boot I used is still going strong. (I've since fixed my axle issue, and this one form upull-it is going strong now.)

I would be interested to see one of these boots, but I'm not willing to commite to buying anything.

No worries Phiz, How long have you had the Brumby?

I get no more than 12 months out of my boots.

Sticks and rocks tear them and I think Dogs piss eats them too.

You will learn the joys of the 36mm socket my young friend.

But no more, ever!

let me know when you are ready.

Oh, I know the 36mm socket joys... Silly axles, so weak. ( I guess I was asking a bit much from them )

I've had the ute for about 20months now? I signed up here a week after I bought it I think. So what ever it says up the top right..

The boots I have right now on the front shafts are around 16months old. But I have to say my poor little ute doesn't get as much offroading as it should. And it's all just sand stuff around here.

My parents were in tas just the other week for a 7 week holiday and now I have to go apparently (because the offroading is so good.)

Matt, did you want those pictures of the L springs in the front of my MY? I just need your email addy.

  • 2 weeks later...
here's hoping that this thread isnt too far out of date. im definitely interested in leather cv boots. sooo sick of replacing joints when the boot tears. $200 each is a little too much for a student to afford.

i know. the thread is by no means out of date. i read the wrong date.

*smacks forehead*
