Sonicfrog
As most may recall, I swapped the 3 speed auto with a FT4WD 5 speed on the 87 T-Wag. Now the car idles too fast when in neutral, at about 1600 RPMs. Is the idle set higher to compensate for the drag of the torque converter? If so, how do I adjust it
Prospeeder
theres an idle screw on top of the throttle body towards the rear

jeffast
I tell it, but it won't listen:grin::grin:!!! ha ha i ment when you did the swap did you wire the selector switch to where the car thinks it's in park, drive, or neutral, to elaborate most cars idle faster in park than when in drive or neutral,

Only necessary transmission wiring magic to be done is the bypassing of the neutral safety switch.
Petersubaru
a good opportunity for the idle screw to be completely taken out and cleaned up
