Do you have a DMV you can report them too? or a consumer group

report them eh? what do i report? being ripped off, hard, on a 13 year old car that is worth 1000? and getting a huge bill which was uncalled for, and would not tell me what they were doing during the time being, nor tell me if the price changed.

And yes i do have a DMV, but they usually have a long line:-\

Ok, i read over the link, and I dont think my dad had the estimate written down  He's sleeping at the moment itt is 2:18AM:rolleyes: IM hoping to God that he has a written estimate, the estimate cannot exceed 10 percent of the original estimate. So tommorow morning ill check in. But why the f*** would he install used bearings, and tranny mount good question, but i remember seeing a subaru legacy outside all the time when we went by, it got into a accident, so im guessing they werre pulling parts off it(TCU, engine mount, bearings, my spirit, and bank account, etc) you know those things :-p

er um, its not important that you dont have an estimate (and if they didnt give you one its a violation). The fact they screwed up is enough to write the letter.

I hate to tell you this.. and I don't know exactly what the $ conversion is.. but I paid ~$38 for a brand new transmission mount for a 99 legacy auto from the dealership. I would seriously demand at the least that they pay for another shop (dealership?) to put in NEW parts and repairs for what their broken stuff, that they overcharged for, did. If they don't want to make it right, start filing complaints everywhere you can. See if you can get your local newspaper, TV news, etc, to do stories about them? Go to other shops and get quotes for all of that work (don't show them that work order.. just write all those things down and ask for a quote to do that work.) Document everything you can. Take those SOBS to small claims court if nothing gets resolved. $3000 is a LOT of money for those repairs. I'm not up to date on how the money converts. But it definately feels like they are overcharging you... even if it was NEW parts.

I will definitly consider making a mokery(this the word im looking for) of there shop, but from reading that over they charged me 1200 for rebuilding the transmission? how do i know if they rebuilt the whole tranny? But i went there to begin with for the drive solenoid C and clutch packs to get changed, NOTHING else, but i wasnt there when my dad brought the car to these SOB's. Starting to snow here, so it should support my problem. But to clarify if when i take off in snow, NORMAL accel. i shouldnt get torque steer, and a 2 second delay, with a bang, correct? IF he did replace the solenoid and clutch.

OH, i forgot to mension this WHEN I LEFT they said we have spent over 5000 trying to figure out why it wont shift out of first gear at WOT:lol::lol:

ARE THEY NUTS!! they took me, guy walks in with no experience, and get this. this has happened twice with this car, in like i think 1995? or 1996? my dad thought the tranny fluid should be changed since it is a AWD car, the car had about 97,000KM and we got the fluid changed(at the dealer), right at 99,978KM (WARRENTY expires at 100,000KM) the car wouldnt shift into 4th gear. My parents did EVERYTHING possible to get the job done for free, but the car was out of warrenty, so we were screwed and had no evidence, and my dad never checked the dip stick for the tranny, so if it was low, the clutch could have got dry, and when there dry there garbage:mad: 2000 later we get the transmission rebuilt, and after they rebuilt it, the car took a LONG time to engadge AWD. We went back and forth to subaru, NOTHING, they said it was 100 percent NORMAL!!! there nuts!! just like this tranny shop. We had to let the dealer fix it, because my dad said he went to all the transmission shops, and none of them wanted to touch the car, because they never touched a new gen legacy, no one had, so only subaru could fix it. And then i found this forum year 2000 or later? cant remember and i posted threads about delay AWD everyone said try a tranny flush or change a few times till it fixes it, but my dad wouldn't do it right, after last incident.

Never had the best luck with this car, overall the car is spectactular, but all these mechanics. I got so many stories with bad mechanics, this is my third harmonic pulley!!!! back in the day when the car had i think 130,000KM we got the timing belt changed 1 year later the pulley fell off, and got knows where it went. So my mom drove everywhere with out the belts or the pulley or THE altnernator running, and i point out and say mom why is the trouble light on, i dont know, call your father, i had to go somewhere, so my dad comes, LOL, the front off the engine had just the belts hanging but no pulley. But we still drove home, and everywhere for a while, except this time subaru fixed it for free, now were in 2006 and i needed a new one, oh well, live and learn, to torque things after a noob mechanic works on it:-p

Just and update, now the car is totally FWD

So this will support the idea that the AWD doesnt work properly, the car is been used all day, so can't take it today, but i rather prefer i brought the car when it snows this week so i dont need to WOT, i can lightly accel.

Well, i went in, and i heard ALOT of bull ************, and my dad didn't help, he just agreed with ALL the BS, and the guy said alot of crap, then i asked about the AWD HE SAID its SUPPOST to bind a little with a AWD drive when u make a tight turn, is that correct? He also said there is no such thing as a Drive Solenoid C, and he went ON AND ON AND ON!!!!!!! If my dad doesn't care fine, but still. Then i said, well explain why my abs light came on after your guys replaced the wheel bearings, he said well they can easily be "OVERHEATED", BUT it didn't do it before we brought it in! he said SO much crap. but the guy who was at the desk giving us the crap, and servicing, he got fired,to many people had problems, and such. THEN i asked why the flex plate kept cracking, but the guy told me its was the torque converter cracking, he said do you know what a flex plate is? It is part of the engine, and it attaches to the starter, then used words to confuse us! i had nothing to support what the hell he was talking about, then we talked about the AWD unit, he said there is no gear in there, i said i don't know whatever, then talked crap and said all AWD units are the "EXACT SAME" they just brign in power when the front wheels slip, i said, im pretty sure it runs 10 percent all the time. THEN i said why does the car shift at 6250 RPM not 6500RPM he said a car CAN NOT shift at redline, i didnt want to argue, once again nothing to support his comment, he said these engines can only operated in 3000 to 4000 rpm range, and no more. :-\ Tell me whats right and wrong.

The car is being dropped off soon, NOW i need to confirm what is causing the knocking noise inside the car, when/or after u pass 80km/h never makes the noise when u stop, and NOT consitent, peopel said its mostlikely the flex plate. I don't know. I am being told it has nothing to do with the torque converter, but i have no clue if it actually is.:-\
