Subaru crash and FWD/AWD conversion

Recommended Posts

Ok so my brother crashed his 90 Legacy last night, came around a corner, hit sand and slammed into the curb at 40mpg. So Major front end damage . This car is a 90 AWD five speed.

So we found a 92 5 spd FWD wagon that we want to convert to AWD using the parts from his crashed 90.

I think all we will need to change is the tranny/trans axle and the rear end?

Am I missing anything here?

is the 90 a sedan? May need a longer driveshaft going into the wagon. Not sure.

Hey is the front left corner marker intact on the 90? If so will he sell me the corner marker and socket?

Sorry about he crash. That sucks!

We either way we go I will be parting the car out, it is in really good shape other than the front suspension!

Yes 5spd to 5spd is easier, but my write-up still cover's the majority of what needs to be done.

You need the trans, driveline (wagon & sedan are the same), rear subframe, rear diff, AWD fuel tank, rear crossmember, hubs, struts, and other suspension components. You also need the fuel separator. The wagon & sedans have different separators, and you will need to get the appropriate one.

If you have any questions, let me know, but my write-up covers things pretty well.

Great thanks for the response. They are both wagons so this should make it bit easier. I am not sure if it will be worth the work since neither car is that great of shape or mileage. We might just part out his 90 and find a replacement.
